Kick Stress And Anxiety To The Curb

We've all suffered from stress and anxiety at some point in our lives. Anyone who tells you differently is certainly from some other sort of planet, or universe even. Choose to tackle your anxiety head-on. Kick stress and anxiety to the curb. And live your life with a little less chaos with these tips from one anxiety sufferer to another. You might not wake up tomorrow feeling like a zen goddess but after a few weeks, you may just notice some nice little changes that make a big difference to your overall happiness.

Adopt An Attitude Of Gratitude

Say goodbye to stress and anxiety with an attitude of gratefulness. They say that you simply can't be upset when you're in a place of gratitude. Next time stress or anxiety start to creep up on you try to find something to be grateful for. It sounds ridiculous, like duh, if I was feeling all gooey and grateful I wouldn't be stressed. And yes, this is true. But if you make the conscious effort to find something to be grateful for every day, your daily stresses start to seemingly melt away.

Yes, the kids will still wreak havoc. And yeah, hubby will most likely forget to wash up his plates. But if you come at life from a place of gratitude, everything just seems that much sweeter (and less stressy, of course). Each morning wake up and write down 3 things you're grateful for today, do this for a week and see how much better you feel. 

Get Movin'

Some people use exercise as a form of therapy. And it really, REALLY, can help you get through a long week. It'll make you feel better with a little confidence boost from the physical results of adding exercise into your schedule. Plus, there's actually a whole lot of research that backs up its mood-boosting psychological effects.

Exercise releases endorphins into our brains which can trigger feelings of well-being and euphoria. Don't believe me? Keep Your Magnesium In Check

The original 'Chill Pill' as they call it. Magnesium has been said to help with both anxiety and depression. Being that the two usually go hand-in-hand, this is a pretty great little remedy to have up your sleeve. Soak In Some Essential Oils

When diffused, essential oils also trigger receptors in the brain that increase your overall state of wellbeing. Try diffusing calming oils such as lavender, rose or chamomile in your home. Apart from making the house smell delish, oils can increase serotonin (known to increase mood and produce a utopian feeling) and regulate cortisol (the stress hormone) in our brains. 

Try Out EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

The emotional freedom technique tapping incorporates acupuncture remedies to dissolve feelings of stress and anxiety. Just like acupuncture, this technique focuses on your body's energy points to relieve stress and balance your energy. Rather than using needles to realign the energy throughout your body, EFT simply uses your fingertips. 

Tapping these energy points is said to work by sending signals to the part of the brain that controls stress. EFT is an alternative treatment that has had some amazing results.
